The Worker Support Centre is really proud to make three big announcements today.

  1. We're pleased to launch our new Worker Power stream, standing in solidarity with carers who have come to the UK to look after our loved ones.
  2. We're very excited to share our brand new website and look.
  3. Finally to share that we have opened our new office in Perth, at the heart of Scotland and close to those with whom we work.

We believe that everyone should be valued, respected and safe at work – no matter our job or nationality. Yet we know that many people aren’t treated fairly at work, and that exploitation happens when power is stacked against us. That’s why we support people who come to the UK to work on the margins of our society.

Since 2022 we have partnered with Scotland’s seasonal farm workers. They have shown us the huge sacrifices people make to put food on our tables, and the powerful potential for change when we collaborate. We work together to secure their rights, prevent abuse and influence government policy for lasting change.

Just like farm workers, many carers who come here to look after our sick and elderly face isolation, poverty and exploitation. Going forward we will learn from carers’ experiences, build community, and work towards a society that cares for those who care for us and our loved ones.

We're so pleased to have such a brilliant team with experience and expertise to help our work grow in partnership with workers, Margarita, Valeria, Graham, Francis, Dmytro, Iryna, Talgat, Lynda and Caroline. Together with workers we're seeking welcoming and safe workplaces and are building a movement towards a country with zero tolerance for abuse or exploitation.

Huge thanks in particular to The Robertson Trust for supporting our work with care workers.
