Anissa Thabet Mammar

Anissa is a sociologist with over ten years’ experience working with migrant and refugee communities at national and international organisations, both in Scotland and North Africa. Her work has focused on frontline support, policy development, and research, with a strong emphasis on advocating for migrants’ human rights. Originally from Tunisia and having grown up in Spain, Anissa migrated to Scotland in 2015, where she later completed an MSc in Equality and Human Rights at the University of Glasgow. She is now based in Fife, where she has become increasingly familiar with the realities faced by agricultural workers. She is keen to support WSC’s efforts to build workers’ power and raise awareness of these issues within the wider Fife community. Anissa is also a co-founder of the Wee Anti-Racist Library, a community-run lending library that centres books by Global Majority authors and explores themes of anti-racism, community, solidarity, and mutual aid.
