Ethical Consumer has published an article co-written by two farm workers, Elina and Mira (chosen pseudonyms), who were supported by Worker Support Centre in 2025.
The two women provide examples of their daily work, from respect, good attitudes and clean living conditions, to rudeness, unsafe caravans and healthcare denied.
They worked across three farms whilst in the UK and have rich experiences of their work.
They share the need for worker centred support, respect and fair treatment for all workers. They also comment on the important work they are doing to put food on the shelves of our major supermarket chains, and how every worker should be valued for that work.
Elina and Mira called on Worker Support Centre for help, then joined our Worker Power sessions and have now contributed their views and reflections to the UK national debate so that Ethical Consumer readers can act.
