Mike Holmes

Mike worked in senior roles in the voluntary sector for thirty years both for an international NGO and a Scottish charity for people with learning disabilities prior to becoming the Deputy Leader of Renfrewshire Council where he was the Convener of Finance and the Convener of Scotland Excel – the national procurement body for Scotland’s 32 local authorities and served on a number of boards.  The treatment of migrant workers is personal to Mike – his mum was an immigrant to Scotland in the 1950’s and could have used the services of the WSC had it existed.  Mike would like to do what he can to ensure the WSC uses its unique position to advocate with and for some of the most vulnerable members of society.
