Our Impact
We believe in welcoming every worker to Scotland, and ensuring all workers are respected and supported. From individual casework to national policy change, our work delivers meaningful results for workers. Every conversation is a step towards something better.

Why our work matters
Across Scotland and the rest of the UK, too many workers are facing abuse and risks of exploitation alone. We step in where others don’t, offering independent advice, expert advocacy and a listening ear in workers’ own languages – all informed by the lived experience shared by our staff and trustees. In 2024 alone, we supported nearly 700 workers from over 17 different nationalities, helping many reach tangible outcomes and begin to rebuild trust in the system.
While our outreach and support are rooted in Scotland, the issues we tackle stretch beyond borders – and so does our impact. From influencing Scottish policy to informing UK-level change, our work is gaining recognition and momentum. Institutions across the UK and beyond are looking to us for solutions – and workers are leading the way.

Our Early Exploitation Prevention Model
At the heart of our work is a unique and effective model designed to stop exploitation before it starts. Our Early Exploitation Prevention Model combines practical support with long-term change, helping meet immediate needs while also building knowledge, confidence and power.
We support people to understand their rights, assert them in the workplace and connect with others to drive change. We push for stronger enforcement and smarter policy, informed by the experiences of workers and their analysis of what needs to change. Grounded in workers’ own experiences, our model is already shaping responses to labour abuse and exploitation across the UK – and it’s driven by the belief that prevention is possible when workers are supported, heard and empowered.
